Recently, say a few weeks ago, I watched this show on channel news asia called the "Vox" or something like that. It was on how the younger generation has become so materialistic, which i find SO true. I mean, look at us. We're PATHETIC. It's a sad truth, isn't it? Make me want to cry (Not Really) ><
Their definition of tweens was "children who are not teenagers, yet think they are". OMG! Seriously? SERIOUSLY! Is this REALLY how the public sees us?
damn.

I HATE THE NEW SHOPPING CENTRE IN ORCHARD ROAD. Like seriously (I say this a lot, if you haven't already noticed, get used to it). Since I stay around the area (actual address will not be disclosed in case there are any stalkers out there), i pass by often and noticed how bright the totally unnecessary lights were. And to make things even more dandy, the lights were on ALL THE TIME. Even before it opened, when it was still half under construction! AND in the day, when you can't even really see the lights unless your up close!
And while they were busy doing that, i was in school learning about how we're supposed to REDUCE, REUSE, & RECYCLE. Really? YES. Really. My form teacher even made Kim Jeong Won read some pamphlet on it, since she's the National Education Head of our class management committee. So what, is the government leading by example, or just paying lip service? (I got that chim word from my dad :) )
whatever, man.
YOUR.
MUM.
IS.
PSYCHO.
I would like to thank this flickr user for the fabulous picture of ION orchard! (The building still sucks)

Shout out to JK Rowling, who's birthday, apparently, is today! Yay! She probably has No idea how glad i am she was born, but maybe she does and is very pleased :) I really felt the movies did NO justice to the books, at all. Except maybe in the special effects department. That was COOL.
Anyway, I know you didn't ask but my favorite book in the phenomenal Potter series would be Goblet of Fire, and NOT because of Robert-freaking-Pattinson. I mean, please. Just please. I rather liked the action.
1. Harry Potter and the sparkling pervert (thumbs up if you can guess who I'm referring to)
2. Harry Potter and the umbrella, ella, ella, eh, eh eh.
3. Harry Potter and the things he could do with his magic. Like save the suffering african children, or stop global warming, or maybe even send me a lifetime supply of ice cream.
4. Harry Potter and the chamber of twitter success secrets.
5. Harry Potter, and the death eating retards on broomsticks.
I pledge to buy everybody a copy if these ever come out in print, by JK Rowling.
i would like to thank this user on flickr for the image of Rowling's Hedwig in this post, but i added the scar in photoshop myself :)

This is something my friends and I been doing for a while, but we've never actually recorded it down. So I'll do so here :D 'The Ashton Chronicles', as i've retardedly named it, is a series of unrealistic stories where i'll glorify myself and downplay most of my friends :D So here's volume one! (definitely best seller potential) PS, this stuff is all EXAGGERATED. Monica is not really slightly smelly, i am not really gorgeous, and loads of crap here isn't true. Don't take offense, man. Oh, and we're not really so shallow and stupid.
Once upon a time, in a land far far away, there lived five ruling queens. There were dubbed by their subjects as Rachel The supremely awesome, Federica the dramatic, Carolina the artistic, Becky the i-change-my-favorite-TV-show-every-month and monica the slightly smelly .
Everybody adored Rachel the most, because she was the smartest, kindest, most gorgeous person you will ever meet, if you happen to get the honor.
The five queens lived together peacefully, overseeing their respective kingdoms/empires, and were even pretty good friends, but Monica the slightly smelly sometimes saw green with envy, because she wasn't half as pretty as Rachel. In fact, she had a ginourmous (sp?) mole on her neck the size of China.
One day, Monica went visiting the other four kingdoms. She thought that she could forge greater ties with the other countries for everyones benefit. However, upon seeing Rachel, the beast within her roared and he eyes flashed red. She turned into a really big dragon and tried to attack Rachel, but Rachel took out her iPhone (A/N: I wish) and dialed for her good friends from Hogwarts to come save her. Just for fun, she called Federica and Carolina, too. Monica was a really lousy dragon and took ages to attack, so even after making all these calls Rachel still had time to go to kitchen to grab a banana that came from Krypton and return.
And when she did return back to Monica the lousy dragon, Luna Lovegood, the sorting hat, Hermione Granger, Federica and Carolina were there. Together, they tied monica to a tree and ran away, giggling.
Alice Cullen had predicted this game, so she showed up with her family, the sparkling perv edward, clumsy anti-feminist Bella, awesome Emmet, deranged Jasper, loser Carlisle and loving Esme. Just for kicks, they used their super strength and unrooted the tree Monica was tied to, and rolled it down a hill (the very same on jack & Jill rolled down :O ! ) Monica nearly died. How sad.

So here I am with first entry shit, saying, Hey! My name's
Rachel Ashton
(as in, Rachel Bilson and Ashton Kutcher), thus the username AshtonRae (Original, ain't it?**insert heavy sarcasm here**)! Hope you enjoy reading me blab about mundane things i've noticed going around in my life, because that is exactly what i will be doing.
So a bit on me. I'm a chinese girl living in singapore, but my chinese just sucks and i prefer english a lot more anyway. (真的!) I used to be a really huge fan of twilight but now i find it ridiculous and so utterly stupid (Don't take it personally, man). I love reading & writing (nerd alert!), and my favorite author to recommend right now would be the fabulous Sarah Dessen. She's ah-mazing.
My other hobbies include stuff like drawing, swimming, dance (i take jazz & hip hop classes) and music. I'm not a die hard music listener (in fact, i'm really very out of it; i hate following trends), but i don't download music off the Internet and stuff, and i have just over 700 songs on my ipod.
If you scroll through my iPod, chances are, you'd think i'm insane because i have almost every other genre on there. There's pop (yes, I am sad to say), R&B, reggae, Hip Hop, rap, alternative, Punk, Metal (not death metal), Classical, world, blues, rock, soundtrack... yep.
I don't have a twitter, but i am on flickr and facebook, though i only use facebook for the apps. (flickr.com/love-ecstasy and just search me on facebook - Rachel Ashton Lim)
If you're really so damned interested in me (And why would you be?), you can just go to my profile.
So, sayonara, peeps! (Yes, i really did just say that.)
